Choose once, not twice
Below Shopify Plus, your shopper answers the delivery-or-pickup question twice, once in the cart and again at checkout, and some switch the second time just to dodge the fee. Kite carries the first answer straight through, so checkout opens already locked to what they picked.

- You run more than one shop, or expect to.
- You want to start free, then upgrade when you grow.
- You price delivery by postcode, weight, product or urgency, without paying twice for it.
- You need order caps per slot without paying extra.
- You want to talk to the person who built the app, not wait on a ticket.
Stay on Zapiet if
- You sell through Shopify POS and counter orders must land with online orders.
- You already built workflows around it and don't want to change.
- Your setup runs smoothly and you have no reason to touch it.

Rebuild your rules
Zones, slots, cut-offs, prep times and blackout dates get entered again. There is no importer between them. For one shop that is an afternoon.
Test, then switch
Place a draft order against the new setup, check the dates behave, then remove Zapiet. Do not leave two date pickers live at once; they will fight over the same cart. Kite installs as a theme app block, so nothing is left behind.

Is Kite cheaper than Zapiet?
Yes, at every tier, and the gap widens as you grow. Kite starts at $5.99 against Zapiet's $29.99, and Kite has a free plan where Zapiet has none. Add postcode pricing and Zapiet becomes $44.98, because rates are a second subscription. Add a dozen shops and Zapiet becomes $179.99, because twelve is past their ten-location tier. Kite is still $5.99.
Does Zapiet include delivery rates?
Not in the main app. Read Zapiet's three pricing tiers on their own listing and the word rates does not appear in any of them. Their help centre says to add Zapiet Rates by Zip Code when you want to set up rates depending on the customer's zip code. That is a second listing at $14.99 a month. On Kite, Rates by Price and Weight is on the free plan.
How many locations does each support?
Kite includes unlimited locations from Grow at $5.99, with no location limit set by us. Zapiet prices locations by tier: one on Essential, up to ten on Advanced, up to a hundred on Professional. Growing from two shops to twelve moves a Zapiet merchant from $79.99 to $179.99, because twelve is past their ten-location tier. It costs a Kite merchant nothing. The Kite free plan does not include multi-location scheduling.
Which app works for florists?
Kite, if you price delivery by postcode. That needs rate calculation, and on Zapiet it means Essential at $29.99 plus Rates by Zip Code at $14.99, so $44.98 a month before you have taken an order. On Kite, rate calculation is on the free plan and postcode validation is $5.99 on Grow, the exact setup this page prices for a florist. Pricing by urgency, so same-day costs more than Thursday, is $9.99. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day also need hard caps on specific dates, which is $5.99 on Kite and an Advanced-tier bullet at $79.99 on Zapiet.
Which app works for bakeries?
Kite, if lead times vary by product. A tiered cake needs two days and cookies go out the same afternoon, and that is product-specific prep: $9.99 on Kite against an Advanced-tier bullet at $79.99 on Zapiet. Day-wise cut-offs, so Friday orders cannot ask for Saturday collection, are $5.99.
Which app works for grocers and butchers?
Kite, on two counts. Order caps per slot, so a delivery run does not get oversold, are $5.99 here and an Advanced-tier bullet at $79.99 there. And if you run several shops, Kite includes unlimited locations from $5.99 while Zapiet charges by location.
Can I switch from Zapiet to Kite?
Yes. Install Kite on the free plan while Zapiet is still running, rebuild your rules, test a draft order, then remove Zapiet. There is no importer between them, so the rules are entered by hand. Book a migration call and we do that setup with you.
Does Kite work with Shopify POS?
No, Kite does not list Shopify POS. Zapiet lists it from $29.99. For everything a shopper touches, the date picker, the delivery price and the postcode rules, Kite covers it from the free plan.
What happens at checkout if a customer picks pickup in the cart?
On Kite, checkout opens on the option your shopper already picked, because Kite carries the cart choice through to Shopify. Someone who chose delivery cannot check out as pickup to dodge the fee. Below Shopify Plus no app can redraw the checkout page itself; full checkout customisation is $9.99 on Kite and requires Shopify Plus.
