Yes, at every tier, and the gap widens as you grow. Kite starts at $5.99 against Zapiet's $49.99, and Kite has a free plan where Zapiet has none. Add a dozen shops and Zapiet becomes $179.99, because twelve is past their ten-location tier. Kite is still $5.99.
Does Zapiet include delivery rates?
Partly. Zapiet's rates guide, updated in May 2026, sets pickup and delivery rates by order price, weight and location in the main app on every plan. For rates by postcode or distance, Zapiet points you to Rates by Zip Code ($14.99 a month) or Rates by Distance (free for 20 rate calculations a month at one location, or $14.99 a month for 100). For postcodes it also documents one location per postcode group, with extra locations at $5 a month. On Kite, Rates by Price and Weight is on the free plan, and Zapiet has no free plan.
How many locations does each support?
Kite has no location cap set by KiteLane from Grow at $5.99. Zapiet prices locations by tier: one on Essential, up to ten on Advanced, up to a hundred on Professional. Growing from two shops to twelve moves a Zapiet merchant from $79.99 to $179.99, because twelve is past their ten-location tier. It costs a Kite merchant nothing.
Which app works for florists?
Kite, if you deliver to set postcodes and charge by order value, weight or urgency. On Zapiet, Essential at $49.99 covers zip checks and fees by price or weight, and fees that change by postcode need Rates by Zip Code at $14.99 more or extra locations at $5 a month each. On Kite, rates by price and weight are on the free plan and postcode validation is $5.99 on Grow, the exact setup this page prices for a florist. Pricing by urgency, so same-day costs more than Thursday, is $9.99. What happens at checkout if a customer picks pickup in the cart?
On Kite, checkout opens on the option your shopper already picked, because Kite carries the cart choice through to Shopify. Someone who chose delivery cannot check out as pickup to dodge the fee. Below Shopify Plus no app can redraw the checkout page itself; full checkout customisation is $9.99 on Kite and requires Shopify Plus.
