Zapiet Alternatives for Shopify: Pickup and Local Delivery Apps Compared

You’re paying for Zapiet Pickup + Delivery every month, and you’re starting to wonder if you could pay less. Or get help faster. Or stop wrestling the calendar before every holiday.
Sound familiar? Zapiet’s own low-star reviews say the same thing. (And yes, this is Zapiet the Shopify pickup and delivery app, not Zapier the automation tool.)
Below are the Zapiet alternatives worth your time, what each one costs today, and which one fits your store. KiteLane makes the app we rank first. Every plan price comes from each app’s own Shopify App Store listing.
The short answer
- Best Zapiet alternative: Kite. Your time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates are free up to 30 orders a month. Order limits cost $9.99 a month, compared with $79.99 on Zapiet.
- Your staff take pickup orders in Shopify POS? Look at Pickeasy, from $9.99 a month.
- You charge delivery by zip code or distance? Bird sells those rates in the same app. Check which Bird plan includes them before you install.

Why are merchants switching from Zapiet?
In Zapiet’s own low-star reviews from 2024 to 2026, merchants complain most about support. Next come bugs at checkout, in the calendar and in order data. Price and plan limits come up less often.
In their words:
★★★★★"our delivery dates suddenly were changed to include days we are closed. ... Why when one thing is fixed another problem is created?"
★★★★★"Our staff keeps finding orders that have been fulfilled in Zapiet but don't get updated in Shopify."
★★★★★"The app can handle pickup and zones, but advanced distance-based pricing is not very intuitive to configure. Support was helpful, but expect a learning curve for more complex delivery setups."
Fair’s fair: some reviewers also say Zapiet’s support fixed their problem in the end.

Can you charge delivery by distance without a second app?
Zapiet’s main app sets delivery rates by order price, weight and location on every plan, according to its rates setup guide.
To charge by distance, Zapiet points you to a separate app. For zip codes, it offers a separate app too, or one location per group of zip codes, with extra locations at $5 a month each past your plan’s limit.
Rates by Zip Code is $14.99 a month. Rates by Distance is free for 20 rate calculations a month at one location, or $14.99 a month for 100, and Zapiet says it needs Shopify’s carrier-calculated shipping.
What if you charge by distance? Then Kite isn’t your app.
Kite sets delivery rates by order value and weight on every plan, and by product, urgency and time on Advanced, but not by distance or zip code. Bird’s listing sells delivery rates by zip code or distance, so check which Bird plan includes them.
When should you stay on Zapiet?
Zapiet is the better pick if your store needs one of these three things. Merchants switch to it as well as away from it.
- Shopify POS on every plan. Your staff can take pickup or delivery orders at the counter from Essential up. Kite has no POS integration.
- Many locations. Professional covers up to 100 locations.
- Delivery areas by driving distance or a zone drawn on a map. Both need a Google Maps API key.
If that’s your store, stay on Zapiet.
The best Zapiet alternatives for Shopify
1. Kite by KiteLane: best Zapiet alternative on a budget
Best for: grocers and butchers, florists, meal prep kitchens and bakeries whose customers pick a day and a time slot for pickup or local delivery, from one location or several.
Kite is a delivery date picker for orders with a deadline: a butcher’s box for Saturday, flowers for a birthday, meal prep for Monday. It is rated 5.0 on the Shopify App Store.
Here’s what you get:
- Your core rules are free. Pickup, local delivery and shipping, time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates are on the free plan, up to 30 orders a month. Zapiet has no free plan.
- Order limits for $9.99. Advanced lets you limit how many orders you take per day and per time slot, and adds product prep time and Google Calendar. On Zapiet, order limits start at $79.99.
- Delivery rates on the free plan. You can set rates by order value and weight on every plan, including Free. Zapiet’s rates start with its $49.99 plan.
- A second location for $5.99. Multiple pickup locations start on Grow, with no location cap set by KiteLane.
- You don’t edit code. You switch Kite on in your theme editor as an app embed called Date Time Picker. It works on the cart page and in a slide-out cart.
How florists, grocers, butchers and meal prep kitchens use Kite:
-
Florists: you block the days you're closed with blackout dates, and on Advanced you cap your Mother's Day slots with order limits so you never take more bouquets than you can make.
-
Grocers and butchers: you set prep time so nobody books a Saturday box you can't pack in time, and on Advanced you cap each delivery slot to what your van can carry.
-
Meal prep kitchens: you set a cut-off time, so Monday's orders close when your shopping list does.
Running two locations? Your customers pick the location, then the day and time.
Shopify’s own pickup in store shows a processing time you set, not a date and time your customer chooses. Closing for a holiday? See how to set blackout dates in Shopify.
What merchants on Kite say:
★★★★★"Was previously using a different app but found it was interfering with my other Apps. ... Easy to use and set up and the customer service is excellent."
★★★★★"I'm using the free plan, yet the features are incredibly generous and work exactly as I needed for my Shopify store."
Good to know: Kite focuses on pickup and delivery orders placed online, so it doesn't connect to Shopify POS, set delivery rates by distance or zip code, or plan delivery routes. Order limits come with the Advanced plan, at $9.99 a month.
Price: Free (up to 30 orders a month) · Grow $5.99 (up to 300) · Advanced $9.99 (up to 1,500) · Plus $14.99 (no monthly cap). 14-day free trial on paid plans. Full comparison: Kite vs Zapiet.
Move your Zapiet rules to Kite free
- Set up your real time slots, prep time and blackout dates on the free plan, up to 30 orders a month
- Walk through your setup on a free call before you turn Zapiet off
- Order limits per day and per time slot on Advanced ($9.99)
2. Pickeasy: best Zapiet alternative with Shopify POS
Best for: small stores whose staff take pickup orders at the counter in Shopify POS.
Why you might choose it. You get Shopify POS on Pickeasy’s $9.99 Starter plan. On Zapiet, POS starts at $49.99. Pickeasy’s free plan, up to 10 orders a month, already includes order limits and a zip code check.
Watch-outs: the free plan covers 1 location and 10 orders a month. Its listing first names more than one location on Smart ($19.99, up to 4). On Kite, multiple locations start on Grow ($5.99). One merchant who switched from Zapiet to Pickeasy went back to Zapiet. Their review is below.
Price: Free (1 location, 10 orders a month) · Starter $9.99 · Smart $19.99 (up to 4 locations) · Premium $29.99 (5 to 20 locations). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Pickeasy or our Pickeasy alternatives guide.
What merchants report:
★★★★★"I moved from Zapiet to this app thinking it would be an upgrade, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time. ... I am reverting back to Zapiet and now have to reinstall and reconfigure everything from scratch."
★★★★★"The app is a little complicated for inexperienced users. The support team is sometimes hard to reach and can take days to resolve issues. But when you get the right agent, everything works quite well."
3. Bird: best Zapiet alternative for distance rates
Best for: stores that charge delivery by zip code, postcode or distance and don’t want a second rates app.
Why you might choose it. Its listing sells “Delivery rates by zip code or distance, plus same-day & peak-time surcharges” in the same app. Bird also lists Shopify POS on its plans.
Watch-outs: the listing doesn't say which plan includes distance rates. Order limits start on Growth ($49.99), while Kite has them at $9.99. The free plan covers 1 location and 10 orders a month.
Price: Free (1 location, 10 orders a month) · Essential $19.99 (1 location, 250 orders) · Growth $49.99 (1 to 4 locations, 1,000 orders) · Scale $99.99 (1 to 20 locations, 2,500 orders). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Bird, or our guide to Bird alternatives.
One of Bird’s low-star reviews is about support:
★★★★★"Everytime I would reply to email I would be speaking with someone new every single time"
How to switch from Zapiet to Kite
Ready to move? Pick a quiet week, not the week before Mother’s Day or Christmas. Then follow Kite’s four-step setup guide inside the app.
- Configure pickup & delivery. Copy your locations, time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates from Zapiet.
- Configure shipping. If you ship too, set your shipping days, prep time and blackout dates.
- Enable widget on your cart. Switch on the Date Time Picker app embed in your theme, then switch off Zapiet's picker.
- Place a test order. Book one pickup and one delivery on your own store.
The whole switch at a glance:
Set up Kite
Copy your rules while Zapiet keeps taking orders.
Protect booked slots
Lower or block the slots that already have orders.
Switch pickers
Turn on Kite's embed, turn off Zapiet's picker, and place test orders.
Cancel Zapiet
Only after real orders come through with dates.
Before you cancel, run through this checklist:
- List the orders already booked for future dates, and lower or block the slots they fill.
- Try to book a blackout date and a day past your cut-off time.
- Check out with each express button you offer, such as Shop Pay, and check the order carries a date.
- Check your Zapiet renewal date, so you don't pay for a month you won't use.

Mistakes to avoid when you switch
1 Cancelling an annual Zapiet plan and expecting a refund
Zapiet's billing help says annual plans are not refundable and can't be downgraded until the end of the billing period.
How to fixCheck your renewal date first. On a monthly plan you can downgrade at any time.
2 Forgetting the orders already booked
Your new app doesn't know about orders Zapiet already took, so a full Saturday can look empty.
How to fixList every future-dated order before you switch, and lower or block those slots in the new app.
3 Assuming Shopify POS comes with you
If your staff take pickup orders at the counter through Zapiet in Shopify POS, an app without POS ends that the day you switch.
How to fixPick an app with POS: Pickeasy from $9.99, or Bird. Kite has none.
4 Paying for a rates app you don't need
A distance or zip code rates app only helps if your delivery price changes by distance or area.
How to fixIf you charge by order value or weight, Kite does it on its free plan. Add a rates app only for distance or area pricing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Zapiet alternative?
Kite, if you're a grocer, butcher, florist, meal prep kitchen or bakery and your customers pick a date and time slot. You get time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates free, up to 30 orders a month. Order limits cost $9.99 a month on Kite, compared with $79.99 on Zapiet.
Is there a free Zapiet alternative?
Yes. Kite's free plan covers 30 orders a month with time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates. Pickeasy and Bird both have free plans for up to 10 orders a month, while Zapiet has none.
How much does Zapiet cost?
Zapiet Pickup + Delivery has three plans on its Shopify App Store listing: Essential at $49.99 a month (1 location, 250 orders), Advanced at $79.99 (1 to 10 locations, 1,000 orders) and Professional at $179.99 (1 to 100 locations, 2,500 orders). Each has a 14-day free trial. For rates by distance, Zapiet sells a separate app. For rates by zip code, it sells Rates by Zip Code, or you can set up one Zapiet location per group of zip codes.
Can Zapiet charge delivery rates by distance?
Yes, with a second app. Zapiet's main app sets rates by order price, weight and location. For distance, Zapiet recommends its separate Rates by Distance app, which is free for 20 rate calculations a month at one location and $14.99 a month for 100, and needs Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping. Kite does not set rates by distance.
Which Zapiet alternative works with Shopify POS?
Pickeasy includes Shopify POS from its $9.99 Starter plan, and Bird lists Shopify POS on its plans. Kite has no Shopify POS integration, so if your staff take pickup orders at the counter, Pickeasy, Bird or Zapiet will suit you better.
How do I switch from Zapiet without losing orders?
Set up the new app with its picker switched off, copy your locations, time slots, prep time, cut-off times and blackout dates, and lower or block the slots that already have orders. Then switch pickers in a quiet week, place test orders, and cancel Zapiet only after real orders come through with dates.
Can I get a refund if I cancel Zapiet's annual plan?
Usually not. Zapiet's billing help says annual plans are not refundable and can't be downgraded until the end of the billing period. Monthly plans can be downgraded at any time. Check your renewal date before you switch.
Does Shopify have its own pickup and delivery?
Yes, but your customers can't choose a date or time. Shopify's pickup shows a processing time you set, and its local delivery covers a distance or set postal codes with a delivery price. Letting customers pick a day and a time slot needs an app.
Ready to add exact delivery and pickup times?
Date and time slots, prep time, cut-offs, and blackout dates, all on the free plan.
