For Shopify Plus
Let customers pick a delivery date at checkout.
Shopify Plus gives you more control over checkout than any other plan. Delivery dates are the one thing it leaves out. Kite adds them, using the cut-off times, closed days and daily limits your team already works to.

What it does
Scheduling built into your checkout.
Your customer sees what is really available, picks a slot, and the order reaches your team with the date already on it.
- A date and time picker inside checkout
- Customers choose before they place the order
- Works with every payment method on Shopify Plus
The picker
What your customer sees.
Closed days and full slots are greyed out, so nobody can book a day you cannot deliver.

In short
Can you add a delivery date picker to Shopify checkout?
Yes, if you are on Shopify Plus. Shopify only lets apps appear inside checkout on Plus. Kite adds a checkout extension, so your customer picks a delivery or pickup date and a time slot on the checkout page itself.
The date and time are saved on the order and show up in your Shopify admin, where your team already works. No theme files are touched, and most stores are live within minutes.
| Where it shows up | The checkout page, as a Shopify checkout extension |
|---|---|
| Shopify plan needed | Shopify Plus, because Shopify allows checkout extensions on Plus only |
| What the customer picks | A delivery or pickup date, and a time slot |
| Where the date goes | Saved on the order, and shown in your Shopify admin |
| Developer needed | No, and no theme file is edited |
| Time to go live | Minutes, for most stores |
Why it matters
What this fixes.
No more "3 to 5 business days"
Someone buying a cake, flowers or a weekly shop is planning around a date. A rough estimate asks them to guess.
Fewer "can I get this by Friday?" emails
The picker answers the most common question your team gets, before anyone has to write back.
Fewer delivery mistakes
The date is saved on the order, so nobody has to copy it across from an email thread.
You know tomorrow's workload
Daily limits mean a full day stops taking orders, instead of overbooking your drivers.
Setup
How to add a delivery date picker to Shopify Plus checkout
Three steps, no developer, and no theme rebuild. Most stores are live within minutes.
- 01
Install Kite
Install from the Shopify App Store. No theme files are touched, so there is nothing to undo later.
- 02
Set your schedule
Open days, prep time, cut-off times, closed dates and daily limits. Set once, per location.
- 03
Add the block to checkout
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Checkout, then Customize, and drop the Kite block in. This step is the one that needs Shopify Plus.
After that, every order arrives with a date and time already on it.

FAQ
Questions Plus merchants ask
Does Shopify have a built-in delivery date picker?
No. Shopify checkout has no date or time slot field of its own, so merchants add one with an app. On Shopify Plus, Kite adds a date and time picker inside checkout, and the customer chooses a slot as part of placing the order.
How do I add a delivery date picker to Shopify Plus checkout?
Install Kite from the Shopify App Store. Set your open days, prep time, cut-off times and closed dates in your Shopify admin. Then go to Settings, Checkout, Customize, and add the Kite block to the checkout page. No developer, no theme rebuild, and most stores are live within minutes.
Why does checkout scheduling need Shopify Plus?
Because Shopify draws that line, not Kite. Apps can only appear on the checkout page on Plus. You already have that half. On our side the checkout extension sits on one of the higher plans, which is the half we can move for you.
Does it work with every payment method?
Yes. The picker sits in the checkout flow before the payment step, so the date and time are already chosen by the time your customer pays. What they pay with makes no difference.
Do we need a developer, or a theme rebuild?
No to both. The checkout block is added in your Shopify checkout editor, and the rules behind it are set in the Kite app in your admin. No theme files are touched, so there is nothing to undo later.
We run several stores and many locations. Does that work?
Yes. Locations are unlimited and Kite sets no ceiling of its own, so the real limit is your Shopify plan, and Shopify Plus allows 200. Each location carries its own open days, cut-off times, prep windows and slots.
What happens in a busy week?
Daily and per-slot limits are the control that matters at peak. Each window has a ceiling, so once a slot is full it drops out of the picker and nobody can book into it. You promise only what you can actually deliver on your busiest day.
What about B2B and draft orders?
B2B draft orders are supported on our top plan. Customers can also change their delivery slot after they have ordered, without emailing your team.
What does support look like at our size?
Founder-led, which at this stage is a real advantage rather than a euphemism. Email and chat on every plan, 24/7 support on the paid plans, and a 1:1 onboarding call on the top plan. Custom requests get built for single stores, sometimes within hours, and that is not reserved for the largest accounts.
