Best Shopify Local Delivery and Pickup Apps 2026 (Free and Paid)

A customer books a Sunday pickup on a day you’re closed. Forty orders land in the 9am slot before Mother’s Day. A cake that needs two days gets ordered for tomorrow morning.
A Shopify local delivery and pickup app stops all three. Customers choose a date and time slot in the cart, and your rules decide which dates they can choose.
Below are the eight apps worth comparing, what each one costs, and which fits your store. KiteLane makes the app we rank first. Every plan price comes from each app’s own Shopify App Store listing.
The short answer
- Best overall: Kite, for grocers, butchers, florists, meal prep kitchens and bakeries whose customers book a day and a time slot. Slots, prep time, cutoffs and blackout dates are free up to 30 orders a month.
- Need to cap busy slots? Order limits cost $9.99 a month on Kite, against $49.99 on Bird and $79.99 on Zapiet.
- Zapiet if ten or more shops take pickup orders at the counter in Shopify POS. Bird if couriers such as Uber Direct or Stuart make your deliveries.
- Shopify's own settings if customers never choose a day and just collect when the order is ready.
Which app should you choose?
Start with the one thing your store can’t do without.

What it actually costs
Entry prices hide the real bill. Here is what you pay for the controls you will actually use.
The free option. Kite’s free plan covers 30 orders a month, with pickup, local delivery and shipping, time slots, prep time, cutoffs and blackout dates. D stops at 20 orders a month, Pickeasy and Bird at 10, and Stellar at 50 orders in total.
The entry plan. Kite Grow is $5.99, the lowest paid entry price of the eight. Next come CR at $6.90 (pickup only) and D at $6.99.
What each Kite plan includes:

Once you need order limits. If you’re a florist before Mother’s Day or a grocer with one van, this is the plan you will be on.
| App | Order limits, up to 1,000 orders a month | Order limits, 5 pickup locations |
|---|---|---|
| Kite | $9.99 | $9.99 |
| Pickeasy | $9.99 | $29.99 |
| Stellar | $14.99 | $29.99 |
| Bird | $49.99 | $54.99 |
| Zapiet | $79.99 | $79.99 |
Bird’s Growth plan includes 4 locations, and each extra one is $5 a month: $49.99 + $5 = $54.99. D’s listing doesn’t say which plan has order limits, and CR lists slot limits only on its pickup-only plan, so both are left out.
Of these five apps, Kite is the lowest or joint-lowest price in both columns. Pickeasy Starter matches it at $9.99, but Google Calendar costs $19.99 on Pickeasy and is included in Kite’s $9.99.
Can Shopify do this without an app?
Partly. Shopify decides where an order can go. It doesn’t let customers book a day and a time slot.
Shopify’s own do-it-yourself code adds a basic date field to the cart page, with no time slots, order limits or holiday blocking. Shopify’s Help Center explains how local delivery works.

Best Shopify local delivery and pickup apps
1. Kite by KiteLane: best overall
Best for: grocers and butchers, florists, meal prep kitchens and bakeries whose customers book pickup or local delivery to the day and slot, from one shop or several.
Kite is a delivery date picker built for orders with a deadline: a butcher’s box for Saturday, a bouquet for a birthday, meal prep for Monday. It is rated 5.0 on the Shopify App Store.
- The core rules are free. Time slots, prep time, cutoffs and blackout dates are on the free plan, up to 30 orders a month.
- Order limits for $9.99. Advanced adds per-slot and per-day limits, product prep time and Google Calendar. Bird charges $49.99 for order limits and Zapiet $79.99.
- More shops for $5.99. Multiple pickup locations start on Grow, with no location cap set by KiteLane.
- No template code edits. You switch it on in your theme editor as an app embed called Date Time Picker. It works on the cart page and in a cart drawer.
- The date reaches your team. Every plan saves the date and time on the Shopify order. Grow adds order tags and the date on packing slips.
- A checkout check. A Checkout Validation setting requires a date and time and re-checks the ZIP code at checkout, on stores without Shopify Plus.
Closing for a holiday? See how to set blackout dates in Shopify. On Shopify Plus, Advanced can put the full date picker inside checkout: how Kite works on Shopify Plus.
★★★★★"Was previously using a different app but found it was interfering with my other Apps. ... Easy to use and set up and the customer service is excellent."
★★★★★"Sidharth was super helpful in setting up. He personally got on a call with me to walk through set up from start to finish. He made the whole process so easy and stress free."
Watch-outs: order limits start on Advanced ($9.99); Pickeasy has them on its free plan, up to 10 orders a month. There's no Shopify POS integration and no route planner, so pair it with a route planner if you run your own vans.
Price: Free (up to 30 orders a month) · Grow $5.99 (up to 300) · Advanced $9.99 (up to 1,500) · Plus $14.99 (no monthly cap). 14-day free trial on paid plans. Full plan comparison.

2. Zapiet: best for large store chains
Best for: chains of 10 to 100 shops where staff book pickup orders at the counter in Shopify POS.
Why you might choose it. Shopify POS and Shopify Flow come with its entry plan. Delivery areas can be set by ZIP code, radius, driving distance or a zone drawn on a map.
Watch-outs: no free plan, and Essential covers 1 location and 250 orders. Order limits and product prep time start on Advanced ($79.99), against $9.99 on Kite. For fees by ZIP code or distance, Zapiet recommends its separate Rates by Zip Code ($14.99) or Rates by Distance apps.
Price: Essential $49.99 (1 location, 250 orders) · Advanced $79.99 (1 to 10 locations, 1,000 orders) · Professional $179.99 (1 to 100 locations, 2,500 orders). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Zapiet.
What merchants report:
★★★★★"our delivery dates suddenly were changed to include days we are closed. ... the zip codes were not working for our radius of 20 miles. No one could place a delivery order."
★★★★★"the monthly subscription fee for the essential plan also requires either an add-on zip code app ($14.99/mo) or a google API key ..."
★★★★★"some basic features are restricted to their most premium 'professional' plan that costs more than double."
3. Bird: best for courier deliveries
Best for: food and flower businesses that hand deliveries to couriers such as Uber Direct or Stuart.
Why you might choose it. Bird connects to couriers and sends email and SMS notifications. SMS is on paid plans in selected countries, billed per message.
Watch-outs: every plan caps orders and locations. Bird's pricing page charges $0.10 for each order over the cap and $5 a month for each extra location. Order limits and product prep time start on Growth ($49.99), against $9.99 on Kite.
Price: Free (10 orders, 1 location) · Essential $19.99 (250 orders, 1 location) · Growth $49.99 (1,000 orders, 1 to 4 locations) · Scale $99.99 (2,500 orders, 1 to 20 locations). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Bird.
What merchants report:
★★★★★"the maximum order limit frequently fails to work, allowing customers to place more orders than my business can realistically fulfil."
★★★★★"It would rarely work to let customers click pickup. ... every time I would get a reply I would follow what they said and would think it's fixed but I was wrong."
4. Pickeasy: best for very small stores
Best for: a small store at 10 orders a month or fewer that wants order limits at $0.
Why you might choose it. Order limits and a ZIP code check are on the free plan, and Shopify POS starts at $9.99.
Watch-outs: the free plan stops at 10 orders a month and 1 location. Google Calendar and 2 to 4 locations cost $19.99, and 5 or more locations cost $29.99. Custom delivery rates need Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping, which not every Shopify plan includes.
Price: Free (10 orders, 1 location) · Starter $9.99 · Smart $19.99 (up to 4 locations) · Premium $29.99 (5 to 20 locations). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Pickeasy.
What merchants report:
★★★★★"during installation, they nearly crashed the site by disabling all key functions, including the "Add to Cart" button."
★★★★★"We constantly have issues and pickeasy breaks our checkout. I will give 3 stars because their customer service is always very responsive."
★★★★★"I've had to make about 5 or 6 zoom calls to get errors fixed.. we've had to delay our launch twice now because of errors"
5. Stellar: best for built-in route planning
Best for: a store with 1 to 3 locations that delivers its own orders and wants dates and routes in one tool.
Why you might choose it. It is the only one of the eight ranked apps whose listing description offers a built-in route planner. The calendar can sit on the product page, the cart, or checkout on Shopify Plus.
Watch-outs: the free plan is 50 orders in total, not per month, and Stellar's help center says the count doesn't reset if you reinstall. Starter covers 3 locations, and more cost $29.99. The listing shows no free trial.
Price: Free (50 orders in total, 3 locations) · Starter $14.99 (3 locations) · Pro $29.99 (unlimited locations).
What merchants report:
★★★★★"Orders were missing tags, and every time I wrote to ask why, they'd say they werent able to replicate it ... I finally uninstalled it, but it still left code behind"
★★★★★"I edited my lead time and blackout dates and doesn't register which is very inconvenient if you have product that really need a lead time"
★★★★★"está a ocorrer uma falha no carregamento da App que está a afetar cerca de 20% das compras, isto leva a que haja encomendas sem data definida de entrega."
6. D: Local Delivery: best for product-page calendars
Best for: one food or drink shop that wants the calendar on the product page.
Why you might choose it. The calendar can sit on the product page and in the cart drawer, even on the free plan.
Watch-outs: cutoffs and blackout dates start on Essential ($6.99), not Free; Kite has both on its free plan. Essential allows 2 pickup locations and Smart 5. The listing doesn't say which plan includes order limits.
Price: Free (20 orders a month) · Essential $6.99 (100 orders) · Smart $16.99 (2,500 orders) · Enterprise $29.99 (unlimited). 7-day trial.
What merchants report:
★★★★★"a bug caused all checkouts to be blocked ... Ding Doong support was not able to figure out why this was happening even after more than half a day of looking into it."
★★★★★"every single change i make need someone from the dev team to fix. Add a postal code, error."
★★★★★"The app is unfortunately VERY limited in features, in the simplicity of setting up the pre-order schedule I needed."
7. CR Store Pickup: best for pickup-only chains
Best for: click and collect businesses with many pickup points and little or no delivery.
Why you might choose it. Basic gives unlimited pickup locations with per-slot limits at $14.90. You can also make a whole collection pickup-only.
Watch-outs: no free plan, and local delivery starts at $19.90. Shopify POS and the Shopify Plus checkout widget start at $49. SMS is sold separately in packs.
Price: Lite $6.90 (pickup, 1 location) · Basic $14.90 (pickup, unlimited locations) · Grow $19.90 (pickup and delivery) · Advanced $49. Trials of 7 to 14 days.
What merchants report: CR has very few low-star reviews, and the others are from 2018 and 2020. The most recent one:
★★★★★"They have to add delivery range option, intead of putting 1 by1. Some time app takes more than5 minute, just to load."
8. Flare: best for nationwide delivery dates
Best for: higher-revenue brands that ship perishables across the country and promise an arrival day.
Why you might choose it. It checks the date at checkout from $39, and handles shipping rates and surcharges from $99. Ship date and delivery date are tracked separately.
Watch-outs: plans are priced by monthly sales, and the free plan is for test stores only. Its order limit covers the whole day, not each time slot, and starts at $99. Kite limits each slot at $9.99.
Price: Organised $39 (up to $40K monthly sales) · Advanced $99 (up to $100K) · Precise $199 (up to $200K). 14-day trial. See Kite vs Flare.
What merchants report: Flare has very few low-star reviews, and none describes a specific problem we could quote fairly.
Scheduling or routing? Scheduling lets customers choose when they get their order. Routing plans the driver’s route once orders are booked. Kite handles scheduling; if you run your own vans, pair it with a route planner such as EasyRoutes.
Also worth knowing
Four more apps come up often. They didn’t make the ranked eight, but one may fit a specific need.
Genie Store Pickup & Delivery
A pickup and delivery app whose listing reads "Free", with unlimited pickup locations and slot limits.
Best for: pickup-only stores on no budget.
Trade-off: the listing shows no plan prices, so you can't price it at your volume.
Buunto Delivery Date Picker
A date and time-slot picker with cutoffs, prep time and per-product settings on its free plan.
Best for: very small stores, up to 10 orders a month.
Trade-off: order limits and a ZIP code checker start at $19.99, for 500 orders a month.
Local Delivery + Pickup: SE
Scheduling plus route planning, with driver and picker apps, from $19 a month.
Best for: stores that run their own drivers and want dispatch in one app.
Trade-off: order limits start on its $49 plan.
EasyRoutes Local Delivery
A route planner and driver app. Free for 50 orders a month, then $39 a month.
Best for: stores with their own vans that need better routes.
Trade-off: it isn't a date picker, so you still need a scheduling app.
How we compared them
We looked at what decides a merchant’s month:
- Rules that hold: do blackout dates, cutoffs and order limits stop bad orders?
- True monthly cost: order caps, add-on apps and Shopify plan needs, at your volume.
- Scheduling depth: time slots, product prep time, weekday cutoffs and locations.
- Setup: how much work it takes, and whether it clashes with your theme.
- Where the date lands: on the order, in tags, on the packing slip and in a calendar.
- Support: how fast the help is when something breaks.

Mistakes to avoid
1 Comparing only the entry price
The entry plan is rarely the plan you end up on. Order limits, extra locations and delivery fees often sit higher up.
FixPrice the plan you'd be on at your volume, with the controls you need.
2 Trusting the free plan to cover a busy month
Free plans here range from 10 orders a month to 50 orders in total. A florist doing 15 orders a week passes a 10-order plan in week one.
FixCount your orders in your busiest month, not your average one.
3 Ignoring prep time and cutoffs
Without them, customers can book tomorrow for an order that takes two days to make.
FixCheck the app sets prep time and cutoffs on the plan you'll use. On Kite, both are free.
4 Never testing whether a blocked date stays blocked
In the low-star reviews we read, merchants using five rival apps say a blackout date, an order limit or a required date didn't hold.
FixBefore launch, try to book a blackout date and push one slot past its limit.
5 Forgetting locations until the second shop opens
Moving plans or apps with live future orders is harder than choosing right at the start.
FixCheck the location allowance now. On Kite, multiple locations start on Grow ($5.99).
Before you switch or go live
- Set up the new app beside the old one, with its picker switched off.
- Block or lower the slots your existing future orders already fill.
- Try to book a blackout date. It should be impossible.
- Test a cutoff: order after it and check the earliest date moves.
- Fill one slot to its limit, then try one more order.
- Place a test order with each express checkout button, and check it carries a date.
- Turn off the old picker and check the cart on desktop and on a phone.
Moving to Kite? Book a free 30-minute setup call and set up your rules before you turn the old picker off.
Frequently asked questions
Can customers choose a delivery date and time on Shopify without an app?
No. Shopify's pickup shows a processing time, and its delivery dates are shipping estimates the customer doesn't choose. Shopify's do-it-yourself code adds a basic cart-page date field with no time slots, order limits or holiday blocking.
What is the best Shopify local delivery and pickup app?
Kite, for stores whose customers book a day and a time slot. Slots, prep time, cutoffs and blackout dates are free up to 30 orders a month. Zapiet suits large chains booking pickup in Shopify POS, and Bird suits stores using couriers.
Is there a free Shopify pickup and delivery app?
Yes. Kite's free plan covers 30 orders a month with time slots, prep time, cutoffs and blackout dates. D: Local Delivery allows 20 orders a month free, and Pickeasy and Bird allow 10.
How do I limit orders per day or per time slot?
Use an app with order limits: when a day or slot is full, customers pick another. They start at $9.99 a month on Kite, $49.99 on Bird and $79.99 on Zapiet. Pickeasy includes them free for 10 orders a month.
Do I need Shopify Plus for a delivery date picker?
No. Every app here works from the cart on any Shopify plan. Only a picker inside the checkout page needs Shopify Plus, and Kite puts it there on Advanced, $9.99 a month.
Can I block holidays and days my shop is closed?
Yes, with every app ranked here. On Kite, blackout and holiday dates are on the free plan. D: Local Delivery puts them on its Essential plan, $6.99 a month.
Can I offer click and collect or local delivery only, with no shipping?
Yes. Shopify says a pickup location needs a shipping zone, but you don't need to add shipping rates to it. Kite lets you turn store pickup and local delivery on or off separately, on every plan.
Can I charge for local delivery by distance or ZIP code, or make it free?
Yes. Shopify's own local delivery sets a fee per zone, by radius or postal code, and a fee of 0 makes it free. A zone can also go free above an order total. Kite adds fees by order value and weight on its free plan.
Why is my Shopify local delivery option not showing at checkout?
Usually the address is outside your delivery zones, the order is under the zone's minimum, no single location has stock for the whole cart, or the customer used an express button other than Shop Pay, such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
What is a good alternative to Zapiet?
Kite, on price. Its paid plans run $5.99 to $14.99 a month, against $49.99 for Zapiet's entry plan, and order limits cost $9.99 against $79.99. If many shops book pickup in Shopify POS, Zapiet still fits.
Ready to add exact delivery and pickup times?
Date and time slots, prep time, cut-offs, and blackout dates, all on the free plan.
